The Dream

Hollynn's passion for wild horse advocacy started in 2021 when the BLM announced another controversial roundup of the beloved Onaqui mustang herd that Hollynn had fallen in love with through her wild horse photography.

It was heartbreaking for her to see the formerly wild and proud mustangs become shadows of their former selves in the BLM holding pens.

It was then that Hollynn decided to do everything she could for as many horses as possible.

Hollynn spent many hours volunteering for the Onaqui Catalogue, photographing and logging the tagged horses in the BLM pens at Delta, Utah in a joint effort to try to get each horse adopted into a permanent home.

She started her rescue efforts on a personal level by adopting and gentling two Onaqui yearlings, now christened Lilac and Lucy, together with her partners Ellis and Ron. Over the next year, she watched as many of the adopted Onaqui got returned or dumped in kill pens. This fueled her desire to start a rescue, a sanctuary for mustangs and other horses in need of a safe landing.

In October 2023, the stars aligned and Hollynn's dream became reality with the purchase of a Utah homestead that has been forgotten by time since the 1800s. With three natural springs and over a hundred acres of untouched range and native grassland, Hollynn has found the perfect location for equine paradise on earth.

Currently, we are in the planning, permitting, and development stage. Since the land has been untouched for almost a hundred years, we have to install basic infrastructure such as power, water, and miles of fencing before we can start operations on the scale we intend.

Our goal is to help as many horses and burros as possible find safe and secure placement by focusing on three related aims:

1) to provide a safe landing for older, injured, or less adoptable equines at our sanctuary

2) to gentle adoptable equines and match them with suitable private homes

3) to partner with other equine rescues and sanctuaries to find placement for equines that are less suited for private homes

Join the Cause

Together, we can make more of an impact than what we would be able to make alone. Check out our other pages to learn more about the equines we have rescued, and to discover how to get involved with our mission.
